Overview
We profoundly disagree with the notion, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Rather, we see the world through an entrepreneurial lens: how things should or could be. UMBRA develops recommendations through a proprietary consulting curriculum, derived from industry proven methodologies, including Design Thinking.
By completing these projects, our members build upon their ideation, research, and leadership capabilities, while acquiring a highly transferable problem-solving skill set. |
Meetings
Associates
At UMBRA, we refer to our members as Associates because in the process of creating solutions, all inputs are treated equally. Serving on the Board of Officers simply means greater responsibility.
All undergraduate students at the University of Texas at Austin, regardless of college, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, orientation, age, disability, or veteran status, are welcome to apply to be an Associate. Although UMBRA is a McCombs Associated Student Organization (MASO), we are open to majors from the whole campus. We understand the power of diversity and encourage applicants of all backgrounds and interests.

Report
Our reports involve a synthesis of in-field data, associate analyses, and secondary research. These recommendations are ultimately presented to clients at a time of their choosing.
In addition to the development of solutions, UMBRA also includes an implementation strategy adapted to the client's resources. |
Organization
UMBRA is led by a five-member Officer Board which is tasked at improving and complementing the efforts of the Association.
At UMBRA we believe in a flattened hierarchy, whereby Officers are given the same opportunity for input and deference as any other Associate (but with greater responsibility).
